Meet Our Team: Joana R. Lopes
Being supportive, respectful, and responsible toward our team is part of our mission.
This month, our Quality Assurance Manager celebrates one year at Stemmatters. Joana has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Minho. She has extensive experience in quality assurance, quality system management, validation and qualification of equipment, systems and processes, and non-conformity management within the context of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
In this #OurTeam “episode” we had a chat with Joana to learn a bit more about her experience during this past year at Stemmatters.
Describe this past year at Stemmatters.
The past year at Stemmatters has been a year of great learning and challenges. It also allowed me to grow and develop more knowledge in the quality assurance area and quality management system.
What led you to join Stemmatters?
What led me to join Stemmatters was my interest in improving and developing further in the area of quality assurance, with a focus on cell-based products. This was one of the key points that made me join Stemmatters.
How would you describe Stemmatters’ Team?
I would describe the Stemmatters team as skilled, motivated and proactive. They have a great spirit of partnership and are committed to day-to-day challenges. I have always felt very welcomed by everyone.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who is just starting a career in as life sciences SME?
My best advice is to have a great spirit of resilience and commitment. It will certainly be very challenging but, at the same time, very rewarding.
